精密鑄造又叫脫蠟鑄造，用於飾物或複雜的零件之鑄造。

精密鑄造之模型是用蠟製作的，蠟製模型以石膏泥漿淹蓋後，等石膏泥漿乾燥，再加熱使蠟模型溶化流出，形成石膏模窩，再倒入熔化的金屬。
因模型不必自模窩取出，直接將石膏模敲破取出作品，任何複雜形狀的模型均可鑄造，故稱為精密鑄造。
